2010 ShareFest Projects

|
Senior Assist Project
Help seniors and other individuals in need with tasks around their homes that
they cannot afford or are too difficult for them to perform. Project my include
cleaning, lawn mowing, brush clearing, painting, and simple construction
projects. Volunteers including plumbers, carpenters, and electricians are needed
and welcome. Pre-ShareFest assessors are also needed to visit homes and
determine needs in advance. Contact Kacey Stevens at

Food Drive
This project is in conjunction with the Open Arms Mission in Antioch. People
will distribute bags to various neighborhoods on Sat, Sept. 25 and collect on
Sat., Oct. 2 for delivery to Open Arms Mission. Great project for students!
Volunteers and adult drivers are needed for transporting volunteers and
donations on Sept. 25 and Oct. 2.
Children’s ShareFest and Doll Making
For younger children, parents may stay or go to serve on another SF project.
Kids will learn the meaning of Matthew 5:16 and let their light shine by making
dolls for use by Antioch Rescue Squads as gifts to children during emergency
calls. Children ages 5+ will be teamed with an adult in doll-making work.
Volunteers needed for set up, assisting children, and those with sewing skills
are needed. Project done in conjunction with Antioch Kiwanis and Hastings Lake

Blood Drive
With every pint of blood collected, as many as three lives can be saved.
American Red Cross and Life Source will be helping with several blood collection
locations on weekend of Sept. 25 and weekend of Oct. 2. Info regarding specific
blood drive dates and locations coming soon.
Local School Clean Up
This year we will be doing basic landscaping and general clean up at the
following schools:
Antioch Elementry School
Hillcrest Elementry School
Oaklland Elementry School
W.C. Petty Elementry School
Antioch Upper Grade School

Photographer/Videographer
Photographers and videographers are need to capture people at work in projects
throughout the community. Help needed on Saturday, September 25, Saturday,
October 2, and Sunday evening, October 3.
